2020 Tenuta Montanello, Dolcetto d’Alba, Piedmont

Bartolomeo Racca purchased the estate in 1864 to become the first wine growers' cooperative of the Langhe: the Cantina Sociale of Castiglione Falletto. This united no less than 36 wine growers of this commune. Five generations later, the Racca family still owns Tenuta Montanello. The interesting thing about Montanello is that the name itself has long been linked and considered as one of the very best crus of Barolo. The vineyards are composed of only 11 hectares in a single plot with South and South/West exposure and at an altitude of 250/300 metres.

Why do we like it?

This wine is a 100% Dolceto d’Alba fermented and aged in stainless steel, therefore expect an intense, generous, fruited wine with red berries, red apple skin and red roses aromas and flavours. It is showing plenty acidity, with medium bodied, incredibly well balanced, and finishes on a very lovely fresh palate. So delicious!
