2019 Raoul Gautherin, Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesirs

Raoul Gautherin founded his Domaine in the late 1950's, making wine from his family's vineyards, which date back to 1585. It is a family business run nowadays by Raoul's grandson, Adrien, who is the person in charge and makes the wine at the estate. The philosophy is simple: "to make great wine, you first need great grapes." Healthy vineyards and key holding of Premier Cru and Grand Cru allow the family to make some great Chablis. It's a producer that is still underrated so do not wait any longer to try their wines!

Why do we like it?

Vaudésirs Grand Cru is one of their very best single vineyard expression. A intelligent use of oak allow this fantastic Grand Cru to show a floral, delicate and mineral character with the infinite length. Honeysuckle, confit lemon, fresh almond and fresh apple would define well the flavours of the wine but the mineral expression, perceptible acidity and elegant richness is what makes this wine a standout!
