As with true Chablis, the wine is unoaked and fermented in stainless steel to preserve fresh fruit purity. It ages on lees in the tank for 12 months, developing complex bready notes and a rounded texture. The result is a vibrant, lemony wine with floral aromas, green apple, and zesty citrus. The Michel family, winemakers since the 19th century, excels in crafting Chablis from their prestigious vineyards.
Why do we like it?
The Montmain 1er Cru is located on the left bank of the Serein river, it's a classic Kimmeridgian and clay soils. A generous, fruit driven style of Montmains with an appealing combination of stone fruit ripeness and crisp acidity to keep everything fresh and precise. A classy Montmains with such elegance.
