Cantina Tramin, nestled in the heart of Alto Adige in northern Italy, is a historic cooperative founded in 1898. Located in the picturesque village of Tramin, the winery draws from the unique terroir of the Italian Alps, where steep hillside vineyards benefit from the region’s limestone and clay soils. This cooperative, made up of over 160 family growers, specializes in crafting wines that reflect the diverse microclimates of the region.
Thanks to the cool alpine winds and the warm "Ora" breeze from Lake Garda, the condition are excellent to make fresh and elegant wines. Over the years, the winery has earned international recognition for its dedication to quality, creating wines that capture the essence of Alto Adige’s distinct landscape and heritage.
Why do we like it?
Lagrein is native from the region, a grandchild of Pinot, and a cousin of Syrah. Yes, it’s one of those gem that too many wine drinkers haven’t discover yet! The wine has a combination of dark fruits and violet syrup. It’s very attractive, some very gentle creamy tannins, it possesses excellent freshness and slight herbal notes.
