Mount Mary was founded by John and Marli Middleton in 1971. It is still a family owned, single vineyard estate located in the heart of the Yarra Valley and is now run by their son, Sam Middleton. Mount Mary just make great wines. From their Pinot Noir, which is incredibly perfumed, to their Cabernet blends that have plenty richness and depth. From their Chardonnay to the Sauvignon Blanc blends, every single bottle is worth a buy.
Why do we like it?
The Mount Mary Réflexion Fumé Blanc is a 100% barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc sourced from Triolet plantings and younger vines. It displays a refined bouquet of citrus, peach, and guava, with hints of vanilla and tarragon. The palate is bright and slinky, with chalky texture, elderflower, and a long, pristine finish, reflecting Mount Mary’s elegant style.
For the
pairing, some beautiful King prawns, grilled, with lemon herb sauce to enhance its citrus and savory notes, or a creamy goat cheese salad for a textural contrast. Serve chilled in a white wine glass.
