Since 1988, Georges succeeded his father and tends to 15 hectares across Brouilly, Régnié, Morgon, Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, and Chiroubles. Inspired by Marcel Lapierre, Georges adopts a "natural" approach, certified organic, hand-harvesting grapes and using minimal sulfur. Descombes wines exemplify exceptional Beaujolais craftsmanship, showcasing complex aromas, lush fruit, and impeccable balance. Georges Descombes remains a top Beaujolais producer!
Why do we like it?
The warm and dry 2020 vintage produced wines that are ripe and lush. Georges' Fleurie is a superb wine. It possesses a beautiful aromas of violet, raspberry and blackberry with brown spices and earthy notes. Also a bit granitic, the wine is simply is very attractive. This is a super bottle; sweet, fresh, crunchy with perfect balance and super length. Simply gorgeous!
