Founded in 1848 Tiefenbrunner is considered to be a benchmark producer in the Alto-Adige region. In 1968 the estate's first bottling puts the estate in the world map of wine, and since many changes have happened to the winery and of course the people. Today run by Christof, wife Sabine and son Johannes, the wines are better than ever.
Why do we like it?
This Lagrein grape shows a dark red core with black shaded edges and a red to dark red hue. Aromas of red to dark cherries infused with fresh herbs are followed by some stalky notes, earth and spice. A delicious mix cherries are complimented by earth, dried herb and spice characters. Nicely fleshed it has polished tannins, fresh underlying acidity and a savoury finish.
