Le Domaine d'Henri is the personal project of Michel Laroche, one of Chablis's most influential modern winemakers, named in honour of his grandfather Henri who first began farming the family's vineyards in 1961. After decades building the famous Maison Laroche, Michel turned his focus to this smaller, more personal domaine, farmed organically and dedicated entirely to expressing Chablis's distinctive Kimmeridgian limestone terroir.
Why do we like it?
"Saint Pierre" shows everything that makes great Chablis so compelling — bright citrus and green apple fruit, a flinty, oyster-shell minerality, and the taut, precise acidity that defines the appellation at its best. Made with real care and a light touch in the cellar, this is unoaked, pure expression of Chardonnay on limestone — classic, food-friendly Chablis from a producer who has spent a lifetime studying the terroir.
