Les Athletes du Vin is a collective of top organic wine producers from the Loire Valley, founded in 2016 to create high-quality, affordable wines that showcase the region's diverse appellations and grape varieties. Each member farms their own vineyards across the Loire, vinifying each cuvée separately while sharing logistics, sales, and winemaking insights. They prioritize sustainable farming, hand-harvesting vines aged 10 to 120 years, and employ minimal intervention techniques, including natural yeast fermentation and minimal sulphur use. Starting with three wines, the range has expanded to 15, including Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Grolleau, and Pineau d’Aunis. The wines are labeled with art by Michel Tolmer, reflecting the collective's dynamic spirit.
Why do we like it?
The sauvignon blanc is lively with lot of fresh lemon, blackcurrant leaf, passion fruit and fresh grass, with a beautiful racy and nervy finish.
