Vignoble des 2 Lunes is a seventh-generation family estate in Wettolsheim, at the heart of Alsace, now led by sisters Amélie and Cécile Buecher. Since taking over in 2009, the pair have farmed their 14 hectares to certified biodynamic standards, working in harmony with the lunar calendar — a philosophy reflected in the estate's name, "Vineyard of the Two Moons."
Why do we like it?
Genèse is hand-picked and wild-fermented with native yeasts, resting on fine lees to build texture before bottling with minimal sulphur. Expect zesty citrus and green apple, lifted floral notes and a subtle saline edge that speaks directly of the estate's limestone-marl soils and biodynamic farming. A pure, precise expression of Alsace Riesling from one of the region's most thoughtful family domaines.
