Domaine Landron Chartier is run by cousins Bernard and Benoît Landron, carrying forward the famous Landron name in Muscadet — a Loire Valley appellation too often dismissed as simple, but capable of real depth and ageing potential in the right hands. The estate farms biodynamically along the Loire, focused on expressing the unique granite and schist soils of each individual plot.
Why do we like it?
Le Ponceau comes from a single parcel and shows everything that makes serious Muscadet so compelling — bright citrus and green apple, a distinct saline, briny minerality, and real textural depth from extended lees ageing. This is a world away from the thin, forgettable Muscadet many people remember; it's a wine with genuine complexity and the structure to age gracefully for years. One of the great-value white wines of France.
