Pascal Agrapart, a fourth-generation vigneron, passionately manages the family domaine in Avize, where he respectfully maintains a legacy of winemaking. Amboise Agrapart, Pascal's oldest son, recently joined his father at the domaine. Together they manage nine and a half hectares of predominantly Chardonnay vineyards, the vast majority of which are Grand Cru, in the heart of the Côte de Blancs. His commitment to showcasing the unique terroirs of Avize is unwavering. The vineyards boast some of the oldest vines in Côte des Blancs, surpassing 60 years, while Agrapart adheres steadfastly to organic viticulture. Through a refined collection of non-vintage and vintage parcellaire Champagnes, Agrapart's talent as both a skilled farmer and a nuanced vinifier shines. His dedication results in some of the most intricate and captivating wines in the region, a testament to his expertise and devotion.
Why do we like it?
The Agrapart 'Terroirs' is a fantastic non-vintage blend of têtes de cuvée from terroirs in Avize, Oger, Cramant and Oiry. This blend is based on 2017, 2018 and 2019 with reserve wines making up to 80% the cuvée. It displays a zesty lemon aroma, followed by a palate full of fresh apple and tangerine flavours with steely, mineral tones and creamy mouthfeel. It is simply one of the very best examples of the NV category!
