2017 Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage White

The Domaine was established in 1481, it is now the 16th generation looking after the estate, representing one of the oldest families making wine in France! The perfume and power of their Hermitage are unparalleled. The family is a great example of tradition and craftsmanship. Gerard (Jean-Louis father) brought it to worldwide fame in the 70s and Jean-Louis took over in 1992. He has managed to keep the high standard of quality and has replanted vineyards on the family's original estate in Saint-Joseph which had been abandoned in the early 1900's. As traditionalist as they can be, the key to the perfect balance of their wines is the process of blending their vintage cuvées from their expertly farmed array of sites, each with its own character, to create singular blends of great nuance, harmony, depth and aging potential.

Why do we like it?

Want to try an alternative to white Burgundy? Take a shot at this marvelous wine, a rare experience, the palate is already showing notes of acacia flower, honey and toasted almond. A wine vinified with precision, it may need a few more years but it's already so elegant with refined depth. A must-have in your cellar!
