Why do we like it?
The training system used for that wine is called Trenzado, it is a trellis system unique to the Canary Islands. This type of trellising results in a plaited cordon with several of a single vine’s branches braided together, as you can see on the label. The wine is one of the most sought-after white of Spain, it is coming from 100 years vines of Listán Blanco from high-altitude vineyards planted on old volcanic soil. It is a fantastic wine, with a great texture and slight reductive noise (struck match aroma) combined with ripe yellow pear and chamomille and a wonderful toasty, oaky flavour along with almost a rich umami sensation and great mouthfeel. What is really remarkable is the fabulous integration of the oak! It is a must-have for any Burgundy lover!
