Tellurian is a family-owned, certified organic vineyard on the western slopes of the Mt Camel Range in Heathcote, Victoria — a region built on ancient Cambrian soils over 500 million years old. While Heathcote is best known for Shiraz, Tellurian has built a reputation for thoughtful Rhône varieties too, including this expressive Marsanne, made under acclaimed winemaker Tobias Ansted.
Why do we like it?
Picked later in the season to capture the variety's full flavour potential, this Marsanne is pale gold in the glass with aromas of pear, apple and honeydew melon lifted by delicate florals. The palate is medium-bodied with real texture, picking up subtle oak and lees character alongside pear, citrus and a touch of ginger spice. Organic, vegan-friendly and made in an early-drinking style designed to showcase the variety at its most vibrant.
