Santa Barbara is a very exciting area in southern California. The sea fogs present nearly all year around create cool conditions for vine to grow in what will otherwise be a semi-tropical climate area. It's here that sommelier Rajat Parr and winemaker Sashi Moorman have founded the estate in 2010. Sandhi is Sanskrit for 'collaboration' which represent well the partnership between the two. Since the start, the two have been making exceptional wines. Rajat is a brilliant sommelier, he ran some of US best wine programs and has exceptional tasting abilities. Combined with his big love for Burgundy, his destiny was to make great Pinot and Chardonnay.
Why do we like it?
Indeed, this is a thrilling Pinot Noir, sourced mostly from estate-growth fruit at Domaine de la Côte. A fine and elegant wine with flavours of red cherries, plums, roses, cinnamon and vanilla. It is a wine produced in a cool climate, in foggy hillside vineyard showing high-toned aromatics, a classic Pinot with purity, delicacy and a savoury finish, it represents the rebirth of California showing an incredible balance and will surprise many Burgundy lovers!
