Perez Cruz is a family-owned estate in the Maipo Andes, planted high on the eastern slopes of the Maipo Valley where proximity to the Andes brings cooler nights and greater diurnal swing than the valley floor. The estate has built its reputation championing Petit Verdot, a variety more commonly used as a blending component but treated here as a serious, standalone wine.
Why do we like it?
Chaski shows everything that makes Petit Verdot such an exciting variety when given the chance to shine on its own, deep, dark berry fruit, violets and graphite, with firm, structured tannins and real ageing potential.
